POST SEASON UPDATES

All-Star Updates

July 14- Breaking News- Ladera  10- 11 year olds advance to the championship series by beating Malibu 6-4. Got to be there Wednesday July 15th 6:30pm.

Monday July 13th 10-11 Game 4 Recap

Ladera 16,  Culver City National 2

The ping of the aluminum Demarinis and the crack of composite Combats filled the air Monday evening as the Ladera Allstars struck for 16 runs on 15 hits to stay alive in the Loser's Bracket with a 16-2 victory over Culver City National.

Every Ladera runner reached base and all but one scored.  The offensive attack for Ladera was punctuated by a 3 run line drive home run by Lawrence Gilliam in the top of the first, and a lead off towering shot to left field by birthday boy, Jibri Walden.  The home runs were career firsts for Lawrence and Jibri.

With pitch count becoming an increasingly important factor, Ladera sent 4 pitchers to the mound.  Robert was solid in his second start of the tournament and earned the win.  Jordan, Elijah and Lawrence followed in relief.

With the win, Ladera advances to the final game of the Loser's bracket and will face Malibu in a revenge match tonight (Tue) at 6:30.

You can find the play by play here.

Girls Softball

The Girls Softball team tried its best as a young team but fell to a more experienced Culver City and the West LA teams. But our girls are good!

They’ll be back.

Junior

After beating North Venice 21-14, our TOC Champions lost to Beverly Hills 12-2 and then to Santa Monica 21-11.

11-12 year old baseball

Our 12 year olds started out by beating Beverly Hills 5-3 and then Wrigley 6-0. Unfortunately this gritty Ladera team fell to City of Angels 6-5 and then Culver City 11-1. Good run guys.

10-11 year old baseball

Ladera’s 11 year olds are still in the hunt. They beat SM National 12-7. Unfortunately they fell to Malibu in a close 3-2 game. Hold on! They came back to handily beat Culver City National 16-2. Their next game is a rematch against Malibu on Monday. July 13th. Come and make some noise!

9-10 year old baseball

This Ladera team was taking no prisoners. They beat Culver City 15-2 and turned around to beat Culver Marina 10-0. West LA proved to be as strong as anticipated and Ladera fell in a close 4-3 game. It’s not over folks and Ladera has an opportunity to come back Tuesday 7/14 6:00pm against SM American. You got to see it!

Save the date Saturday, June 27th for the First Annual Ladera Little League Sports Awards Banquet. It’s been a great year and we want to go out in style.  Let’s celebrate the great effort put in by all the children. All of the details are in the following flyer Banquet Invitation. Snack Bar

We have reached the end of the regular season. Many of you still have not completed your snack bar volunteer hours. Please check with your Team Mom regarding dates and times available for you to work. If the time slots assigned to your team are not convenient for you, please contact Annette Harrigan or Cherie Robinson so we can find a time for you to fulfill your hours. Since Ladera Little League is hosting some of District 25 Allstar games, snack bar slots will be available during those games also.
